Honeytrap case: Millions recovered from businessman, young woman arrested
50 Lakh Rs. A complaint was filed against the accused in Mandya West Police Station after 6 months of recovery.
Jagannath Shetty is the one who lost 50 lakhs due to honeytrap. A case has been registered against Salmabanu, Jayant and four others of Subhashnagar barangay.
The act took place in Mysore on February 26, Jagannath Shetty was waiting for a bus in Mandya that night to go to Mangalore. This time four people took him in a car saying that they would drop him in Mysore.
Jagannath went in the car because he was a little familiar. On reaching Mysore city, the occupants of the car took out the gold biscuit sample they had and asked if it was a gold biscuit. When I told them that they should check about this, they forced me to come here and tell them.
Later they took him to a private hotel room. After shooting a video with the young woman in the room, he demanded 4 crore rupees.
Finally Jagannath left after paying 50 lakhs. Despite all this, the accused are harassing me for money and threatening to kill me. Fed up with this, Jagannath Shetty filed a complaint against the accused in Mandya West Police Station after 6 months.
The accused Salma Banu has been arrested by the police in connection with the case and she has been produced before the judge and has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
